🚀 Principal Developer / Lead Backend Developer | Federal Government 📍 Location: Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney 📅 Contract: 12 months + 12-month extension option 🏠 Working arrangements: Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in office 🔐 Clearance: Must be able to obtain an NV1 Citizenship: Australian Citizen Bridge IT is looking for an experienced Principal Developer / Lead Backend Developer to join a Federal Government department with offices in multiple locations. This is a technical leadership role with a strong hands-on focus, leading the design, development and evolution of enterprise-scale backend services and the API platform supporting the departments web, portal and mobile applications. We’re looking for experience across: • Golang & GraphQL • Enterprise-scale backend services & API architecture • AWS, Kubernetes & Amazon EKS • Authentication, authorisation & service-to-service communication • CI/CD, automated testing & modern platform engineering • Technical leadership and mentoring of development teams • AI-assisted software development tools and practices • Salesforce / MuleSoft integrations highly regarded • Cloudflare experience would also be beneficial This would suit a Principal Developer, Lead Developer, Lead Backend Engineer, API Technical Lead or Software Engineering Lead who can provide technical direction while remaining actively involved in delivery. *only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
