Our client, a travel technology Industry, is looking to hire Network Engineer (AWS Networking & Cloud Security) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Contract Duration: 12 Months (Extension till 18 months)We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a high-performing technology team responsible for the design, operation, security, and scalability of large-scale public cloud networking environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a cloud networking specialist with deep AWS expertise and strong network security knowledge to contribute to a complex, globally distributed infrastructure. Responsibilities: Design, operate, and maintain large-scale AWS network infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and security. Manage and optimize AWS networking services including Transit Gateways, VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, Internet Gateways, VPNs, Direct Connect, and Gateway Load Balancers. Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot cloud-based network security solutions, preferably Palo Alto firewalls. Automate network provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring using Python and Terraform. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime. Support incident management, root cause analysis, and vendor escalations when required. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement scalable networking solutions across cloud environments. Maintain networking best practices related to routing, switching, Internet connectivity, and security. Requirements: Strong expertise in Routing & Switching, BGP, and TCP/IP networking. Extensive hands-on experience designing, operating, and managing AWS networking infrastructure. Solid experience with AWS network services including Transit Gateway, VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, Route Tables, and Load Balancing solutions. Strong background in network security and firewall administration within AWS environments, preferably Palo Alto. 3+ years of experience in network automation using Python and Terraform. Good understanding of Internet architecture, peering, RPKI, IRR, and Internet security concepts. Experience working within complex multi-vendor network environments. Proven experience in troubleshooting, incident response, and vendor management. Preferred Candidate Profile AWS networking expert with extensive experience across design, implementation, operations, and optimization. Strong exposure to cloud firewall management and security architecture in AWS. Comfortable supporting business-critical network environments at scale.
