About The Role: We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer / Software Engineer to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining scalable web-based software applications and services. The role requires strong knowledge of web engineering, object-oriented programming, software architecture, artificial intelligence (AI) system integration, databases, APIs, cloud technologies, and computer networking. The successful candidate will work across both front-end and back-end technologies and will contribute to the design and implementation of reliable, secure, and scalable software systems. This is a technically demanding role requiring a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development or a closely related field. Job Responsibilities Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack web applications and software services.Develop robust and scalable front-end and back-end components using modern web development technologies.Apply object-oriented programming principles, software engineering methodologies, design patterns, and clean-code practices.Design and implement software architecture for scalable, maintainable, and secure applications.Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and other service interfaces to support communication between applications and systems.Integrate third-party platforms, APIs, cloud services, and external software systems.Design and implement database structures, queries, data models, and data-access layers.Integrate AI and machine-learning systems into web applications and business software, including the integration of AI APIs and intelligent services where required.Develop software components that communicate with AI services, data-processing systems, and external platforms.Analyse system requirements and translate business and technical requirements into reliable software solutions.Troubleshoot complex software, application, integration, and networking issues.Apply knowledge of computer networking, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, APIs, authentication, and network-based application communication when developing and troubleshooting distributed systems.Implement appropriate application security, authentication, authorisation, data protection, and secure coding practices.Participate in system architecture, technical design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimisation and scalability.Work with development, infrastructure, and other technical teams to deliver integrated software solutions.Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, architecture documentation, and development documentation.Keep up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to the evaluation and adoption of appropriate software development and AI technologies. Required Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate must have: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional qualifications and experience.At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, full-stack development, web engineering, or a closely related technical role.Strong professional experience developing web-based software applications.Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.Demonstrable experience with software architecture, system design, design patterns, and scalable application development.Experience developing both front-end and back-end software components.Experience designing and consuming APIs and integrating third-party and external software systems.Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.Practical experience integrating AI systems, AI APIs, machine-learning services, or other intelligent software technologies into applications.Good understanding of computer networking and distributed application communication, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and related concepts.Experience with software testing, debugging, version control, deployment, and application maintenance.Ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop effective software solutions.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a technical team. Desirable Skills The following would be advantageous: Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based application architecture.Experience with containerisation and technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software deployment.Experience with microservices and distributed systems.Experience integrating large language models (LLMs), AI APIs, machine-learning platforms, or other AI services.Experience with authentication and authorisation technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or JWT.Experience with application security and secure software development.Experience working with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Experience designing highly available and scalable production systems.
