Description
Flex Databases team is looking for a DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer who can approach infrastructure with intelligence and pragmatism.
We have operational systems, mission-critical services, and a ton of interesting challenges.
What we're looking for:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure administration, DevOps, or a similar technical role.
• Strong practical experience with Windows (the most important) and Linux (less crucial) server administration.
• Experience with production infrastructure operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, backup, and recovery.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and related infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management; Ansible experience is preferred.
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools and processes; Jenkins experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Git and TFS; experience with GitLab and TFS is preferred.
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform; AWS experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting and administering production database systems (installation, configuration, backup, recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting).
Experience with Firebird is a strong advantage; experience with other relational databases (e.g.
Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) is also acceptable.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application-related issues.
• Ability to work with existing and legacy systems and improve them incrementally without introducing unnecessary operational risk.
• Good written and spoken English.
