Oracle Cloud & Database Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Oracle HIPAA Cloud and Oracle Database Engineer to design, deploy, secure, and support a cloud-based infrastructure supporting advanced AI and large language model (LLM) applications. The role will be responsible for Oracle HIPAA Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle databases, Linux servers, networking, security, and application integration, including the deployment and support of agentic AI middleware frameworks connected to NVIDIA A100 GPU-based LLM environments. The ideal candidate combines strong Oracle infrastructure and database skills with hands-on Linux, Java, scripting, networking, and security experience. Experience supporting AI/LLM or GPU-based computing environments is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Design, configure, deploy, and maintain environments within Oracle HIPAA Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).Configure and administer compute instances, storage, networking, and related OCI services.Design and maintain Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), including:Private subnetsPublic subnetsRoute tablesSecurity lists and Network Security GroupsInternet and NAT gatewaysLoad balancing and secure application connectivityConfigure secure communications between application, database, AI/GPU, and external service tiers.Assist with cloud capacity planning, performance optimization, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery. Oracle Database Install, configure, administer, monitor, and optimize Oracle Database environments.Support database architecture for high-volume medical, insurance, document, and AI-generated data.Manage database users, roles, privileges, encryption, backup, recovery, and performance.Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries and database procedures.Support secure database integration with application and AI middleware services.Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, availability, and application integration issues. AI / LLM Infrastructure Deploy and support agentic middleware frameworks used to orchestrate AI and LLM workflows.Integrate middleware services with NVIDIA A100 GPU clusters used for LLM inference and AI processing.Support communication between Oracle databases, middleware services, APIs, document-processing services, and GPU-based LLMs.Assist with deployment and management of containerized or service-based AI applications.Support APIs and services used for AI inference, data extraction, document processing, and agentic workflows.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks across database, middleware, network, and GPU environments. Linux & Application Support Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers.Manage Linux services, permissions, processes, storage, networking, logging, and system monitoring.Support deployment and operation of Java-based applications and middleware services.Develop scripts for system administration, deployment, monitoring, data processing, and automation.Experience with Bash/Shell scripting required; Python or similar scripting experience preferred.Support automated deployment and configuration processes. Data Security Implement security controls for systems containing confidential and sensitive data.Apply least-privilege access controls across cloud, operating system, database, application, and AI environments.Support encryption of data at rest and in transit.Configure and maintain identity and access management policies.Maintain system and application logging and assist with security monitoring and audit requirements.Apply security patches and maintain hardened Linux, Oracle, and cloud environments.Experience with environments containing PHI/PII or other regulated information is highly desirable. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in Oracle Cloud, Oracle Database, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or a closely related field.Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).Experience configuring servers within private and public OCI subnets.Strong working knowledge of Oracle Database administration and SQL.Strong Linux administration skills.Experience supporting or deploying Java applications.Experience with Shell/Bash scripting or comparable automation tools.Understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, firewalls, ports, certificates, and secure application connectivity.Strong understanding of data security, encryption, authentication, authorization, and access control.Ability to troubleshoot complex issues spanning infrastructure, networking, database, middleware, and applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying or supporting LLMs, generative AI, or agentic AI systems.Experience with NVIDIA A100 or similar data-center GPUs.Experience connecting GPU inference environments with enterprise databases and application services.Experience with Python.Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with REST APIs and microservice architectures.Experience with AI inference servers or LLM-serving frameworks.Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure automation.Experience supporting high-availability and production cloud environments.Experience in healthcare, medical records, insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated data environments. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer rather than solely a database administrator. The individual should be comfortable working across Oracle Cloud infrastructure, Oracle databases, Linux, networking, application middleware, and security. This position is particularly suited to an engineer interested in building the infrastructure connecting enterprise data systems with private generative AI and agentic applications running on NVIDIA GPU infrastructure.
