Tooling Engineer – Harness Location: Atlanta, Georgia Salary: $150,000 to $180,000 + Benefits Experience: 10+ years Industry: Financial Services Are you passionate about making software delivery faster, safer, and easier for engineering teams? We’re looking for an experienced Tooling Engineer to own and evolve Harness as the enterprise software delivery platform for a leading financial services company. You’ll shape how teams build, secure, deploy, measure, and optimize software across a regulated payments environment. What you’ll do Own the architecture, configuration, governance, role-based access control (RBAC), module adoption, and vendor relationship for HarnessCreate reusable CI pipeline templates and shared librariesEstablish standards for build caching and parallelization to keep build times within target as we scaleDesign continuous delivery strategies, including canary, blue-green, and progressive deploymentsDefine GitOps workflows, artifact promotion paths, approval gates, and auditable change controlsIntegrate security testing including SAST, DAST, SCA, container, and secrets scanning into delivery pipelinesPartner with Application Security to establish severity thresholds, enforcement rules, exemptions, and remediation timelinesDefine meaningful engineering insights using DORA, flow, lead-time, and review-latency metricsDeliver cloud cost visibility through budgets, anomaly detection, non-production autostopping, and showback or chargeback modelsEstablish policy-as-code standards so delivery governance is versioned, reviewable, and auditableOwn integrations across the wider software development lifecycle toolchain, including source control, issue tracking, artifact management, static analysis, and test infrastructure What you’ll bring 10+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, software delivery, or a related field.Hands-on experience administering or implementing Harness in an enterprise environment.Experience designing reusable CI/CD platforms that support multiple engineering teams.Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud-native delivery, GitOps, and artifact promotion.Experience implementing security controls and scanning within delivery pipelines.Understanding of RBAC, secrets management, policy-as-code, audit evidence, and regulated change-management practices.Experience working with APIs, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.The ability to influence engineering, security, cloud, and product stakeholders without relying on formal authority.A focus on using engineering metrics to improve systems and processes—not to measure individual developers. Experience that will help you stand out Payments, financial services, PCI DSS, or another regulated environment.Harness STO, SEI, or CCM.Open Policy Agent (OPA) or Rego.Cloud FinOps, cost allocation, showback, or chargeback.GitHub or Atlassian tooling.Hands-on development experience with Go, Node.js, or similar languages.Experience leading an enterprise CI/CD migration or platform rollout.
