Firmware Engineer

At CowManager, we develop smart sensor technology that helps dairy farmers worldwide improve the health, fertility and performance of their herd. As a Firmware Engineer, you will work on the software that runs in our sensors, network components and other embedded systems. You will be involved in the full development cycle: from architecture and design to implementation, testing and optimization. You will work in a multidisciplinary development team where hardware, firmware, software and product development collaborate closely. You will also have plenty of opportunity to contribute ideas on technical choices and the future development of our products. Your responsibilities Designing, developing and maintaining firmware for sensors and network componentsDeveloping software primarily in C and PythonWorking on energy-efficient embedded solutionsImplementing and optimizing wireless communication protocolsDeveloping software for bare-metal systems and RTOS platformsAnalyzing and solving complex technical challengesSupporting testing, validation and quality improvementsCollaborating with hardware engineers, software developers, testers and product managementContributing to architecture choices and future technical developments About CowManager CowManager is an innovative and globally operating company in the agricultural sector. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a similar fieldAt least 5 years of experience in embedded software developmentStrong knowledge of CExperience with PythonExperience with low-power systemsKnowledge of wireless communication such as 802.15.4, Zigbee and BluetoothExperience with bare-metal developmentExperience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr or Embedded LinuxAbility to read and understand electronic schematicsExperience with measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzersExperience with modern development and test environments is a plusGood command of English What do we offer?
