Role Description As a Senior Developer at Vy, you will design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support core transport services and customer-facing platforms.
You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business and user requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
Typical responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, reviewing contributions from other developers, troubleshooting and resolving issues in production systems, and contributing to architectural and technical design decisions.
You will help improve development processes, automate testing and deployment routines, and ensure high standards of security, performance, and reliability.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Oslo, where you will collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver digital products that enhance the customer journey.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Kotlin, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar) and experience building scalable backend and/or frontend applications.Experience with software architecture and design, including microservices, APIs, integration patterns, and distributed systems.Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms.Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools, including unit, integration, and automated end-to-end testing.Ability to work with data and integrations, including REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven systems, and databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose pragmatic solutions.Experience working in agile or iterative development environments, collaborating closely with product and design teams.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor less-experienced developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience in transport, mobility, or other large-scale customer-facing services is an advantage; familiarity with Nordic markets or languages is beneficial but not required.
