Description
TL;DR
Pillar is an Italian startup founded on February 13, 2025.
In less than a year we raised a €15.2 millions to revolutionize the construction industry and we are growing more and more.
Our goal is to become the digital backbone of construction for the Italian building sector and, in the long run, to manage 1 in 3 construction sites across Europe.
We are looking for a Frontend Developer to build the web experience behind our acquisition engine.
Who We Are (and Why We Exist)
The Italian construction industry is the backbone of the country's economy, involving nearly 5 million people — yet it is still managed with outdated tools.
Job sites that invoice but don't collect, spreadsheets everywhere, decisions made by gut feeling, and margins that surface too late.
Pillar was built to solve this problem at its root.
We have built an all-in-one platform that allows construction companies to oversee every job site, monitor profitability in real time, generate instant estimates, and automatically reconcile invoices with bank transactions.
We are not testing an idea: we are building the digital infrastructure of construction.
Our mission is to rebuild its foundations.
Our ambition is to manage 1 in 3 construction sites in Europe.
We are Italian, but with a European vision.
Why We Are Looking for This Profile
We are entering a phase where growth can no longer be purely sales-driven.
We need to build a scalable, measurable, and optimized acquisition engine.
We are looking for someone to build and optimize the web infrastructure that will take Pillar to become the industry standard.
Most of our traffic is mobile, and most of it never reaches a form.
Every point of conversion rate we gain is a point we do not have to buy in paid media.
That is the problem we want you to own, at the interface level: layout, interaction, speed, clarity.
This is not a "website maintenance" role.
It is a builder role.
What You'll Do
You will sit at the intersection of Frontend, Design, and Growth.
In practice:
Build and ship pages, components, and flows with a strong focus on conversion and performanceTranslate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, mobile-first interfaces, and push back when a design will not convertOwn the UX of our conversion paths: landing pages, forms, onboarding wizard, navigationRun A/B tests and iterate on layout, copy placement, and interaction patterns together with marketingUse session recordings, heatmaps, and funnel data to find where users drop off, then fix itKeep the site fast and technically sound (Core Web Vitals, responsive behaviour, accessibility basics, SEO-friendly markup)Grow and maintain a reusable component library so new pages ship in days, not weeksYour one goal: make every page easier to use and harder to leave.
Who We're Looking For
We are not just looking for a developer.
We are looking for someone who thinks about the person on the other side of the screen.
This is you if:
You have solid frontend experience (React / Next.js, modern CSS, TypeScript is a plus)You have a real eye for UI: spacing, hierarchy, states, micro-interactions.
You notice the details that make a page feel rightYou work mobile-first by default, not as an afterthoughtYou are comfortable working from Figma and collaborating closely with designersYou have worked on CRO, A/B testing, or conversion-driven web projectsYou think in metrics: conversion rate, drop-off, page speed, funnelYou enjoy testing, measuring, and iterating fastYou see yourself as a builder and want to create something that does not exist yetNice to have:
Experience in startups or high-growth environmentsFamiliarity with analytics and tracking tools (GA4, GTM, PostHog)Technical SEO skillsExperience with no-code platforms, headless CMS (Strapi or similar), or motion / animation workAccessibility (WCAG) awarenessFamiliarity with AI tools for rapid experimentationHow We Work at Pillar
At Pillar, we all row in the same direction — like a crew in a boat: when one person accelerates, we all do.
We believe in genuine empowerment: we give you direction, tools, and clear goals, but the initiative starts with you.
We work directly and fast, without unnecessary bureaucracy, measuring results and giving honest feedback.
If you are looking for a comfortable, predictable environment, this is not the place.
If you want to build a growth engine from scratch, it is.
