Description
Role Purpose: The DevOps / Automation Engineer will focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing manual activities, strengthening monitoring capability, supporting containerized environments, and enabling automation across the communication surveillance platform.
This role is suitable where the customer expects hands-on scripting, platform improvement, deployment support, and technical modernization.
Key Responsibilities
Identify manual operational processes and convert them into repeatable automation scripts or workflows.Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell, or batch scripting.Support containerized application environments using Docker and Kubernetes, including basic troubleshooting and deployment support.Improve monitoring coverage by building or enhancing dashboards, alerts, and operational views using Splunk, ELK, Grafana, ITRS Geneos, or equivalent tools.Work with production support, CTB, application development, and infrastructure teams to improve system reliability and deployment efficiency.Support release implementation, environment readiness, deployment validation, and post-release checks.Assist in performance analysis, log review, capacity checks, system health reporting, and recurring issue reduction.Support automation for batch monitoring, file checks, health checks, alert management, and recurring operational tasks.Document automation procedures, technical runbooks, support guides, and implementation steps in Confluence or equivalent tools.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across monitoring, availability, resilience, and recovery processes.
Must-Have Skills
Strong scripting experience using one or more of Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell, or batch scripting.Hands-on experience with Linux, Unix, RHEL, and Windows environments.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably in production or near-production environments.Good understanding of application monitoring, log analysis, alerting, and dashboard creation.Experience with tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Nagios, or equivalent platforms.Working knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL or Sybase for operational troubleshooting.Ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate operational pain points into automation solutions.
