Our client is a leading technology company driving digital transformation through innovative, high-performance platforms that improve operational efficiency and deliver exceptional user experiences. 📍 Location: Northern Suburbs, Athens 🏠 Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite | 2 days remote) 📢 Reporting Line: Engineering Lead What you will be doing: As a Java Back-End Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of scalable backend applications and services. Working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and DevOps professionals, you will help build secure, reliable, and high-performing systems that support mission-critical operations and data-driven services. Your Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.Develop and optimize microservices architectures to support business growth and system scalability.Design and improve database structures, ensuring performance, integrity, and reliability.Implement secure authentication, authorization, and integration mechanisms.Collaborate closely with Front-End Developers, DevOps Engineers, and Architects to deliver end-to-end solutions.Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.Develop unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure software quality.Monitor application performance, analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and proactively drive improvements.Contribute to technical documentation and continuously improve development processes and standards. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3-5 years of professional experience in Back-End Development. Strong hands-on experience with Java and modern backend development frameworks. Solid understanding of RESTful API development and Microservices Architecture. Experience working with relational databases and query optimization techniques. Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Good understanding of Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with automated testing frameworks and Test-Driven Development (TDD). Strong understanding of application security and data protection best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. Experience with any of the following technologies will be considered a strong advantage: Message brokers and event streaming platforms (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka).Front-end frameworks (React preferred, Angular or Vue.js also welcomed).Monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus).Infrastructure as Code solutions (Terraform, CloudFormation).Event-Driven Architecture patterns.Modern authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT).
