# MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER, CONSULTANT ## About the Company Jobot Consulting is working with a leading healthcare organization on the West Coast focused on Electronic Health Record (EHR) environments. This contract opportunity supports healthcare-focused machine learning initiatives within an EHR setting. ## About the Role The organization is seeking a **Machine Learning Engineer, Consultant** with strong experience in healthcare and Electronic Health Records (EHR) environments. The role focuses on building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade machine learning systems, scalable ML infrastructure, AI pipelines, and ML/GenAI model engineering workflows. The successful candidate will work with data scientists, data engineers, analytics teams, and DevOps teams to develop reliable deployment pipelines, improve machine learning operations, and support secure and compliant ML systems. **Healthcare and EHR experience are required for consideration.** ## Key Responsibilities * Deploy and maintain production-grade machine learning models with real-time inference, scalability, and reliability. * Develop end-to-end scalable ML infrastructure using on-premise or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. * Lead engineering efforts related to ML and GenAI model engineering, LLM advancements, and deployment framework optimization. * Develop AI pipelines supporting data ingestion, preprocessing, search, and retrieval. * Design and implement robust deployment pipelines in collaboration with data scientists, data engineers, analytics teams, and DevOps teams. * Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models. * Automate testing and deployment processes for ML systems. * Establish monitoring and logging solutions to track model performance, system health, and anomalies. * Implement version control for machine learning models and associated code. * Help ensure machine learning systems meet applicable security, compliance, data protection, and privacy requirements. * Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of MLOps processes and configurations. ## Required Qualifications * **3+ years of relevant Machine Learning Engineer experience.** * Experience deploying and maintaining production-grade machine learning models. * Experience with real-time machine learning inference, scalability, and reliability. * Experience developing scalable ML infrastructure using AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud/on-premise platforms. * Experience with AI pipeline development, including data ingestion, preprocessing, search, and retrieval. * Experience implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models. * Experience with monitoring and logging for model performance, system health, and anomalies. * Experience with version control for machine learning models and related code. * Knowledge of security, compliance, data protection, and privacy requirements for ML systems. * Experience documenting MLOps processes and configurations. * **Healthcare industry experience and Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience are required for consideration.** ## Preferred Qualifications * Experience with containerization technologies such as **Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools**. * Understanding of healthcare regulations and standards. * Familiarity with EHR systems and integrating machine learning models with EHR environments. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, or a closely related field. * Master's degree. * Machine Learning certification(s). ## Skills & Competencies * Machine Learning Engineering * Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) * ML/GenAI model engineering * LLM advancements * Production ML model deployment * Real-time inference * Scalable ML infrastructure * AI pipeline development * Data ingestion and preprocessing * Search and retrieval * CI/CD pipelines * Model monitoring and logging * Model and code version control * AWS, GCP, and Azure * Docker and Kubernetes * Security and compliance * Data protection and privacy * Technical documentation * Cross-functional collaboration * Engineering leadership * Healthcare and EHR environments ## Education & Experience **Education:** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, or a closely related field is preferred. * Master's degree is a plus. * Machine Learning certifications are a plus. **Experience:** * 3+ years of relevant Machine Learning Engineer experience. * Healthcare and EHR experience are required for consideration. * Experience with production ML deployment, scalable ML infrastructure, AI pipelines, CI/CD, monitoring, version control, security, and compliance. ## Work Arrangement & Schedule * **Location:** Bakersfield, California, United States * **Work Arrangement:** Remote * **Employment Type:** Contract * **Contract Duration:** 12+ months * **Schedule:** Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours * **Engagement Options:** W2 or C2C * No specific weekly hours or weekend requirements are stated in the original job description. ## Compensation & Benefits **Salary:** $75–$150 per hour Additional contract details include: * 12+ month contract * Remote work arrangement * PST hours * W2 or C2C engagement options ## Compliance / Additional Information Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
