Senior Software Engineer - Front End - Sydney or Melbourne We're on the lookout for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong Front-End focus to join a fast-growing engineering team at an ASX-listed business. The Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for: Building, modernising and improving customer-facing digital products.Designing, developing and maintaining scalable software solutions, with a strong focus on React.js and modern front-end development.Leading technical design discussions and contributing to architectural decisions for major featuresBuilding high-quality, performant and maintainable applications across the front end and broader technology stackCollaborating closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to refine requirements and translate them into effective technical solutionsReviewing code, providing constructive feedback and helping maintain high engineering standardsIdentifying and addressing technical debt, performance issues and system bottlenecksChampioning engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD and DevOpsWorking within an Agile engineering environment and contributing to continuous improvementSupporting and mentoring junior engineers, helping develop technical capability across the teamLeveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code qualityHelping the engineering team adopt responsible and effective use of AI coding tools and LLM integrations What You'll Bring: 8+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong hands-on experience with React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally building large-scale applicationsStrong understanding of front-end architecture, performance optimisation, design patterns and modern engineering practicesExperience with an object-oriented programming language (C#.NET preferably)Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, AWS or GCPSolid experience with SQL Server and RedisUnderstanding of microservices and event-driven architectureExperience with test-driven development and modern CI/CD practicesExperience working in Agile development environmentsHands-on experience using AI-assisted development toolsExperience integrating LLM APIs or AI-powered features into production applications is highly desirableStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms and software design principlesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, product and business stakeholders
