About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-based applications, APIs, integration services, serverless solutions, and containerised workloads.
You will collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to deliver innovative solutions aligned with security, governance, and enterprise architecture requirements.
This position requires a strong AWS engineering background, hands-on development expertise, and the ability to guide technical decisions within a multidisciplinary Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices and integration services hosted on AWS.Build serverless, event-driven and containerised solutions using AWS technologies including Lambda, ECS, EKS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS, SQS and Step Functions.Develop high-quality software solutions using technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript.Design and provision cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, release management and infrastructure provisioning.Create reusable cloud components and deployment patterns that improve delivery capability across multiple initiatives.Translate business requirements and user stories into secure, scalable and maintainable technical solutions.Conduct code reviews, testing, quality assurance activities and defect resolution.Investigate and resolve production incidents, performance issues and technical defects.Contribute to architecture discussions, technical design workshops and cloud governance activities.Provide expert guidance on AWS best practices, cloud-native architectures and emerging technologies.Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor team members and support knowledge transfer activities.SELECTION CRITERIA

Desired Skills and Experience
Extensive experience delivering software engineering solutions in AWS cloud environments.
Strong development experience with one or more of the following: Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript.

Strong knowledge of serverless and container technologies including AWS Lambda, ECS and EKS.
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK.
