12 Month Contract + Extension OptionsCanberra, ACTMust have a valid NV1 security clearanceSeeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a major government technology program focused on modernizing a critical national capability that supports real-time operational decision-making, surveillance, analytics, and geospatial intelligence. This role will see you working within high-performing Agile teams to design, build and deploy secure cloud-native solutions leveraging modern AWS technologies. You will play a key role in delivering scalable platforms capable of processing large volumes of complex data to support operational outcomes of national significance. The Opportunity As a Senior Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, contributing to the design, development, integration and support of enterprise-grade cloud solutions. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and resilient applications while helping shape technical direction and engineering best practice. Key Responsibilities Design and develop cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices and integration servicesBuild event-driven, serverless and containerised solutions within AWS environmentsDevelop Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDKCreate and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments and testingParticipate in solution design, architecture reviews and technical decision makingPerform code reviews, testing and quality assurance activitiesTroubleshoot production issues and optimise application performanceProvide technical leadership and mentoring within Agile delivery teamsProduce technical documentation including solution designs, deployment guides and operational runbooksAbout You You will bring strong experience delivering cloud-based software solutions and be comfortable working in complex enterprise or government environments.
