Senior Application Developer

Senior Application Developer – IBM z/OS | Sydney Really Awesome People is seeking an experienced Application Developer with extensive IBM z/OS mainframe development experience for a long-term contract opportunity in Sydney. This position will suit a senior mainframe developer who can work across the full application lifecycle, including technical analysis, solution design, development, testing, implementation and production support. The role You will be responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting business-critical applications operating within an IBM z/OS environment. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and support personnel to deliver stable, secure and maintainable application solutions. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across: • IBM z/OS application development • COBOL and JCL • CICS and DB2 • IBM MQ and enterprise integration • Batch and online transaction processing • Application debugging, performance analysis and incident resolution • Source control and mainframe deployment tools • Technical documentation and solution design • Testing, release management and production support About you You will bring: • Approximately 12–15 years of relevant application development experience • Strong hands-on experience within large IBM mainframe environments • The ability to analyse and resolve complex application and production issues • Experience delivering changes to critical enterprise systems • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills • The ability to work effectively within structured development and change-management processes Location: Sydney, NSW Working arrangement: Sydney-based; remote and interstate submissions cannot be accepted Contract: Through to 30 July 2027 If you are an experienced z/OS developer and would like to discuss the opportunity, please apply with an updated CV outlining your relevant mainframe development experience.
