A renowned and respected engineering consultancy with a strong presence in highly regulated sectors is looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer to join their industry leading team in Derby. This role offers the chance to contribute to technically complex programmes within nuclear and defence environments, working as part of a collaborative and experienced engineering team. Key Duties Develop and deliver engineering designs aligned with client and project requirementsCreate and maintain 3D models and technical drawings using CAD softwareReview, adapt and improve existing designs to enhance performance and manufacturabilityEnsure all work adheres to relevant industry standards, safety requirements and best practiceWork closely with internal teams to bring concepts through to completionProvide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced team membersCommunicate design intent and solutions clearly to stakeholders Candidate Requirements Demonstrable experience in a senior–level design engineering or similar roleStrong understanding of mechanical engineering and the ability to work closely with the mechanical engineering teamAppreciate the manufacturing considerations within the design processExperience working in regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, defence, aerospace or similar) is advantageousProficiency with 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX (or comparable systems)Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systemsRelevant engineering qualification (degree or equivalent experience)Working knowledge of applicable safety and compliance standards What You'll Get In Return Involvement in complex, long–term engineering programmesOpportunities for career progression within a structured environmentA supportive team culture with a focus on technical excellenceAccess to employee wellbeing support and lifestyle benefits Additional Information Due to project requirements, applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance, which typically requires sole UK nationality Interested?
