Duration: 12-Month Initial ContractLocation: Canberra, ACTWork Arrangement: OnsiteEngagement: Federal GovernmentSecurity Clearance: NV2 or higher About the Role Green Light is seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to support a major Federal Government program in Canberra. This role will support the Design Authority and Engineering Manager in assessing architectures, security controls, and technical solutions for infrastructure and hardware integration across complex enterprise environments. You will provide technical leadership across VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platforms, ensuring infrastructure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with operational and project requirements. Responsibilities Provide reporting and analysis of current and future-state infrastructure platforms, systems, and hardwareAssess infrastructure architectures, security controls, and technical solutions to ensure alignment with project and operational requirementsLead the design, specification, selection, and development of infrastructure and virtualisation solutionsCoordinate subsystem design and integration activities across complex environmentsIdentify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure and system support deficienciesWork across multiple projects and stakeholder groups, providing technical leadership and advisory servicesCollaborate with vendors to evaluate products, support technology selection, and assist in implementation activitiesTranslate business and technical requirements into integrated and automated technology solutionsEnsure infrastructure deliverables are aligned to project schedules and deliver value-for-money outcomesDevelop and maintain architecture and engineering artefacts including:High-Level Designs (HLDs)System Configuration DocumentationBuild GuidesScripts and PlaybooksStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Quality Assurance PlansProvide Technical Assurance, Objective Quality Evidence, and training material reviewsSupport continual improvement initiatives and provide recommendations on emerging technologies and infrastructure capabilitiesUndertake additional engineering and design activities as required Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with the VMware product suite, including:VMware NSXVMware Aria OperationsVMware Aria Suite LifecycleVMware vRealize Log Insight (vRLI)VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)VMware ESXiVMware vCenterVMware vSANVMware SDDC ManagerWorkspace ONE Access (vIDM)Experience designing and supporting enterprise-grade virtualisation and cloud platformsStrong understanding of infrastructure security, integration, and operational requirementsExperience producing technical design documentation and architecture artefactsStrong understanding of infrastructure automation, orchestration, and lifecycle managementAbility to work effectively across multiple projects and stakeholder groupsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills How To Apply: Click APPLY or contact Liz – Resource Manager at lizc@greenlightworldwide.com About Green Light Worldwide We are an Australian onshore services company that provides technology capability across ANZ and Asia.
