Role Description The Industrial Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain software systems that power HERA’s AI platform for manufacturing and engineering workflows.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing back-end services, integrating data pipelines, and implementing algorithms that process technical drawings and production data.
The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and manufacturing experts to translate requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions.
The engineer will monitor and improve system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation.
This is a full-time, on-site or remote role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Qualifications
General Engineer with strong software development fundamentals.
Expertise with data structures, system design and heavy engineering principles.Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.Experience building APIs and working with databases, cloud infrastructure, and AI/LLM integrations.Ability to design, implement, test, and maintain production-grade software in collaborative engineering environments.Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing systems, CAD/technical drawings, or production data is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Comfort working on-site, partnering with cross-functional teams, and communicating technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
