About The Role Resiliency Engineer at Vanguard will be a vital contributor to the company's Resiliency Engineering Team, focusing on designing and developing enterprise-scale solutions that enhance the reliability, recoverability, and resilience of Vanguard’s critical business services. This role involves working on innovative platforms such as Pulse, Vanguard’s synthetic monitoring system, and Enterprise Resiliency Insights, an enterprise-wide resiliency intelligence platform. The ideal candidate will leverage cloud-native technologies, automation, and AI-powered solutions to transition Vanguard’s operations from reactive to predictive and autonomous resiliency models. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence enterprise-wide resiliency strategies, develop scalable software solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in platform reliability and operational excellence. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in software engineering or platform development. An undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and professional experience. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud-native development, distributed systems, and automation solutions. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale software solutions that enhance system resiliency, reliability, and recoverability across Vanguard's platforms.Create and maintain cloud-native services, APIs, integrations, and automation workflows leveraging technologies such as AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, and event-driven architectures.Lead technical design discussions, contribute to platform architecture decisions, and ensure scalable, maintainable, and reliable software delivery.Collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), product owners, architects, and engineering teams to address enterprise resiliency challenges effectively.Develop reusable frameworks and automation tools aimed at improving resiliency outcomes and operational efficiency.Design and implement AI-enabled capabilities, agents, and skills to automate routine resiliency tasks and enhance decision-making processes.Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, testing, and production support to uphold high-quality standards.Contribute to observability, performance monitoring, and operational excellence initiatives to ensure system health and stability.Engage in special projects, research emerging technologies, and perform other duties as assigned to support Vanguard’s strategic objectives.
