Role Overview
eNGINE is looking for two Senior Software Engineers to join a team focused on modernizing core technology platforms.
These are hands-on engineering positions for experienced developers who have spent their careers writing production code, solving complex software problems, and building a strong foundation in software engineering.
The team is increasingly using Agentic AI and AI-assisted development to improve productivity, but strong engineering fundamentals remain essential.
We are looking for developers who understand the code they produce and can effectively design, review, troubleshoot, test, and improve software—even when AI is part of the development process.
You will work closely with the Principal Architect on greenfield backend services, modern authentication environments, and broader technology refresh initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong .NET background and be comfortable working across both backend and frontend development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain production software across the full technology stack.Build new backend services and APIs as part of an ongoing technology modernization effort.Develop modern user experiences using React.Build scalable backend solutions using .NET Core and C#.Partner with the Principal Architect to turn architectural direction into practical, maintainable software solutions.Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.Help develop and maintain Microsoft Entra SSO environments.Incorporate Agentic AI and AI-assisted development tools into the software development lifecycle.Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure it meets standards for quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.Work with engineering teams in the U.S.
and London to deliver new applications and platform capabilities.Contribute to cloud-native development practices, including containerization and modern deployment strategies.Help improve development standards, engineering practices, and technical processes across the team.
Qualifications
8+ years of professional software development experience required.Strong track record of hands-on software development and production coding..NET Core, C#, and React are all required.Full stack development experience with the ability to work across frontend and backend technologies.Strong understanding of software architecture, development patterns, testing, debugging, and code quality.Experience building APIs, backend services, and modern web applications.Ability to understand, evaluate, and improve code rather than relying solely on AI-generated solutions.Professional experience using AI-assisted or Agentic AI development tools.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Comfortable working independently while contributing to a distributed engineering team.Must be available to work EST hours.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Entra SSO.Experience building greenfield applications, services, or platforms.Experience incorporating Agentic AI into software development workflows.Familiarity with Anthropic/Claude or other AI development platforms.Experience with technology modernization or platform transformation initiatives.Experience collaborating with teams across multiple time zones.Candidates in the Eastern time zone are preferred, with Central time zone candidates also considered.
