About the job: Company Description Omokai is building natural language interfaces that allow anyone, including non-technical users, to communicate with drones, robots, and autonomous machines across environments such as shop floors, security inspections, and defense operations. Role Description: Build AI systems that allow drones to understand and execute natural language commandsWork with ROS 2, MAVLink, PX4, ArduPilot, Gazebo, and other robotics/autonomy toolsIntegrate Omokai’s orchestration layer with drones, sensors, edge devices, and cloud systemsDevelop software components for perception, intent detection, planning, telemetry, and controlConnect LLMs, vision models, speech models, and robotics frameworks into real-world workflowsTest robotic behaviors in simulation before deploying to physical systemsWork with embedded hardware, onboard compute, sensors, cameras, GPS, IMUs, and communication modulesOptimize AI and drone components for latency, robustness, and reliabilityBuild demos and prototypes for drones, mobile robots, autonomous machines, and multi-robot workflowsCollaborate with product, AI, and engineering teams on system design, safety, and deployment requirementsHelp design AI-in-the-loop approval flows for mission-critical robotics operations You should have: Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithmsStrong programming skills in Python and/or C++Good to have experience with ROS or ROS 2Hands-on experience with MAVLink, PX4, ArduPilot, QGroundControl, or drone-control systemsExperience with neural networks, pattern recognition, and deep learning models for perception, control, or decision-makingFamiliarity with simulation tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, RViz, or similar environmentsAbility to integrate AI models with hardware, sensors, embedded boards, or edge devicesUnderstanding of physical AI and how AI systems interact with the real world Hardware experience includes: NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or similar platformsCameras, LiDAR, depth sensors, GPS, IMU, motor controllers, and communication modulesEdge AI deployment on embedded or resource-constrained devicesRobot or drone assembly, wiring, debugging, and field testingBasic electronics, soldering, sensor integration, or PCB bring-upSerial, UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or radio communicationYou do not need to be an expert in every area, but you should be comfortable building, testing, breaking, debugging, and improving real-world robotic systems.
