Location: Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany (Hybrid – 1 to 2 days Home Office/week) Industry: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Construction Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Compensation: €71,000 – €79,000 gross p.a. + 13th month salary & benefits Experience Level: Senior (5+ years required) Language Requirement: German (C1 / Native level) About The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer in Traffic Planning and Road Construction to take on a key client-side representation role (Bauherrenseite). In this position, you will lead, plan, and steer significant inner-city infrastructure and mobility projects that shape the sustainable urban mobility of the area. Rather than acting merely as an executing vendor, you will be in the driver's seat, responsible for guiding projects from initial planning through execution. Because all construction sites are strictly local, there is virtually no travel required, offering a unique blend of strategic office work, local field involvement, and high quality of life. Key Responsibilities Traffic Infrastructure Management: Direct the planning and control of key traffic facilities for major regional infrastructure projects (including high-profile urban road developments).Mobility Strategy: Develop and execute tailored measures to ensure smooth urban mobility utilizing a structured three-zone concept.Project Control & Reporting: Create detailed status reports, establish milestones, control schedules, and ensure projects stay on track.Permitting & Compliance: Secure all necessary official permits, approvals, and regulatory clearances.Financial & Subsidies Management: Review, audit, and settle engineering service contracts (HOAI); manage documentation and compliance for public funding and subsidies.Client Representation (Bauherrenfunktion): Prepare, coordinate, and supervise on-site construction measures directly on behalf of the client. Ideal Candidate Profile Requirements (Must-Haves) Education: Degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diplom) in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a closely related field with a focus on road construction or traffic planning.Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the planning and execution of infrastructure and road traffic engineering projects.Regulatory Knowledge: Solid mastery of relevant standards, technical codes, norms, and project management methodologies.Traffic Flow Expertise: Proven understanding of traffic flow optimization, steering, and control systems.Languages: Native-level fluency or minimum C1 in German with strong written and verbal communication skills. Nice-to-Haves Prior exposure to or interest in Environment-Sensitive Traffic Management (UVM / Umweltsensitives Verkehrsmanagement).
