About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of industry expertise to join our dynamic development team. In this remote role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable microservices that underpin our platform. Your primary focus will be on creating robust, high-performance backend systems using JVM-based languages, implementing microservice patterns, and ensuring seamless integration with Kafka for real-time data processing. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of agile methodologies and have a proven track record of delivering complex software solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure and security, to ensure our platform remains secure, reliable, and scalable. Qualifications Minimum of 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on JVM-based languages such as Java, Groovy, or Kotlin.Extensive experience designing and implementing microservice architectures.Proficiency with Kafka for event-driven data streaming and real-time processing.Solid understanding of Agile development practices, including Scrum methodologies.Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automation testing frameworks.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Relevant certifications such as Scrum Master or Agile certifications are a plus. Responsibilities Develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable microservices that align with business objectives.Participate actively in sprint planning, story sizing, and backlog grooming to ensure timely delivery of features.Write clean, maintainable code following industry best practices and standards.Create and execute automated test scripts to ensure code quality and reliability.Conduct unit testing and collaborate with QA teams to validate functionality against acceptance criteria.Document technical specifications, design decisions, and implementation details comprehensively.Work closely with product managers, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.Implement and advocate for best practices in software development, including TDD and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve platform performance and security.
