About The Role We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join Vanguard's Resiliency Engineering Team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-scale software solutions aimed at enhancing the reliability, recoverability, and resilience of Vanguard’s critical business services. Your work will directly contribute to transforming reactive operational models into predictive and autonomous systems, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand existing platforms such as Pulse, Vanguard's enterprise synthetic monitoring platform, and develop new enterprise resiliency intelligence services. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of modern cloud-native architecture, automation, and AI-powered resiliency solutions, helping Vanguard stay resilient in an evolving technological landscape. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in software development and engineering. An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and practical experience. Strong foundational knowledge in building enterprise-scale software platforms, cloud-native development, and distributed systems is essential. Familiarity with observability, resiliency, and platform engineering concepts will be highly advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in developing APIs, integrations, and event-driven architectures, as well as experience in automation and engineering productivity solutions. A passion for continuous learning and a collaborative mindset are key attributes for success in this role. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement advanced cloud-native applications, APIs, integrations, and automation workflows to support enterprise resiliency initiatives.Lead technical design discussions and contribute to overall platform architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.Partner with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), product owners, architects, and other engineering teams to address enterprise resiliency challenges and develop innovative solutions.Create reusable frameworks and automation tools aimed at improving resiliency outcomes and operational efficiency.Develop AI-enabled capabilities, such as intelligent agents and skills, to reduce operational toil and enhance decision-making processes.Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, testing, and production support, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Contribute to initiatives focused on observability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence to ensure high-quality service delivery.Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support the team’s strategic objectives.
