This role will expand our BD team in EPM and support our regional work with potential partners.
The BD Manager will require the ability to step into new therapeutic areas and to grasp complex clinical, regulatory and reimbursement dynamics across the region.
They will apply a systematic work ethic and employ clear communication of insights to management and bio techs as part of our evaluation of new partnerships in EPM.
Responsibilities:
Work in coordination with the Medison Business Development team to support partners through the BD journey from first contact to deal closure.Drive the evaluation of BD opportunities in selected EPM markets, notably (but not solely) Poland, Romania and Czechia, and assist with development of comprehensive assessment and evaluation of new opportunities.Lead the BD commercial assessment for the EPM and work in collaboration with the team to consolidate insights into the overall Business Case presentation to potential partnersResponsible for the development and implementation of assigned market research activities in EPM related to BD projects and opportunitiesConduct secondary market research covering all related aspects of potential candidate treatments, from clinical research through to reimbursement and commercial strategyPartner with internal subject matter experts in-region to develop and validate our understanding of unmet need and pathways to marketEngage in targeted Primary Market Research through interviews with external stakeholders, mainly key opinion leaders.Maintain awareness of the BD environment and opportunities in EPM.
Where appropriate, explore, propose, and initiate business opportunities to further develop Medison's presence in the EPM market.Prepare written analysis and summary reports for the research insights accumulated during your workParticipate in international travel and work assignments several times per year for departmental/national meetings and business development initiativesComply with all Medison SOPs, policies and national guidelines
Requirements:
Minimum Graduate Degree in life and/or natural sciences, medicine, pharmaceutical or a similar scientific discipline.
Alternative qualifications may be considered if augmented by relevant training or experiencePreferred post-graduate degree in relevant scientific, health economic or business fieldsMinimum 5 years’ experience in either:Pharmaceuticals/Biotechnology – Commercial, Medical or Market AccessAssociated adjacent organizations, such as Pharmaceutical ConsultingFinancial Analysis in Banking / HealthcareBusiness Development in Pharmaceutical /BiotechExperience engaging specialist healthcare professionals and hospitalsExperience assessing novel innovative treatments in Poland/Romania/CzechiaUnderstanding and experience in EPM pharmaceutical policy and landscape (for example pricing and reimbursement)Prior experience with rare diseases and/or oncologyFluent English - essentialExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully maintain professional and trusting relationshipsFlexibility in engaging with global team in different time zones, including regular meetings out of local business hoursInnovative and strategic thinkingStrong analytical and forecasting capabilitiesWorks effectively in highly dynamic and changing environmentsAbility to participate in multiple complex projects and deliver on (at times) urgent business prioritiesAbility to collaborate and influence across senior stakeholders internally and externallyMindset of continuous learningSelf-management & self-motivationHigh ethical and compliance standards.Able to encourage cooperation between functionsCommercial, financial and marketing acumen and skillsManaging complexity (across brands, markets, functions)
