Job Description/Preferred Qualifications Here at KLA we design, develop, and manufacture high-tech machines for the global semiconductor market. Our Mechanical Design Engineer will be working as part of a small multi-disciplinary design team with primary responsibilities involving the mechanical design of semiconductor processing tools. Day to day responsibilities include: Designing 3D parts/assemblies using Solid Edge CADCreating/detailing 2D draft drawings using Solid Edge CADCreating engineering bills of materialsBill of material cost controlSupplier contactBuilding and testing prototypesLeading small projects from concept to implementationCollaborating with other teams across the company KLA is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. For this role we are looking for someone who: Has experience in designing parts/assemblies and creating/detailing 2D draft drawings using Solid Edge CADIs experienced in design of machineryHas a proven experience in report writingHas a flexible work ethic, and be willing to work overtime if necessaryCan demonstrate analytical and fault-finding skillsCan use their own initiativeHad good communication skillsEnjoys working in a team environment Experience in the following areas is desirable but not essential: A good understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards including PL rating, Risk Assessments and CE markingPrevious experience of working in the semiconductor or hi-technology related industry would be advantageous.
