The Role As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer, you’ll require a strong understanding of Electronic Design Principles and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, to ensure all systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the design and development of electronic systems and payloads for a family of Unmanned Target Vehicles within our QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS) department. QTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ Group PLC specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems including the world leading Banshee target. Your responsibilities will include: Electronic system design and PCB designDetailed low-level analogue and digital design to support both new and legacy productsProduction and maintenance of design records in accordance with company proceduresProject ManagementProvide Technical Support to Engineering Trials ActivitiesMentoring and assisting in the training of more junior electronic design engineers Essential experience of the Senior Electronics Design Engineer: Designing electronic productsGood working knowledge of PCB and component level circuit designHands on experience of using electronic test and measurement equipmentCompetent in technical report writingUsing structured and documented work methodsDesigning RF products (desirable) Essential qualifications for the Senior Electronics Design Engineer: Degree qualified in a relevant field or have equivalent experience and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electronic engineering development environment We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. This role is 37 hours per week based at our Ashford (Kent) site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
