About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Android Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of the BundesMessenger, a vital communication platform for the Bundeswehr.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex features within the app using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
You will play a key part in shaping a robust, scalable, and secure Android application architecture that meets the stringent security and performance standards required for military-grade communication tools.
As a technical expert, you will collaborate closely with product management, architecture teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.

Qualifications
Extensive proven experience in native Android development using Kotlin and Java, with a strong understanding of Jetpack Compose and Android Views.Experience designing and implementing complex app architectures such as MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture.Deep knowledge of Android frameworks, concurrency mechanisms (Coroutines/Flows), memory management, and mobile databases like SQLite.High standards for clean code, automated testing (unit and UI tests), and CI/CD processes.Solid understanding of mobile security, encryption, and secure data storage practices.Experience with Rust in conjunction with Kotlin/Java, for example via JNI or UniFFI, is advantageous.Familiarity with the Matrix protocol and end-to-end encryption is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
