About The Role We are seeking a talented and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our internal development team at Matalan. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining existing web-based applications, as well as creating new solutions to support our business operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in transforming critical systems that are nearing end of life, ensuring seamless integration across various functions such as buying, merchandising, and supply chain management, from stores to warehouses and beyond. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant environment that leverages the latest technologies, including Typescript with React.js, Node.js, and Azure cloud services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including database ETL developers, database administrators, and business analysts, to design scalable, efficient, and high-performance solutions. Additionally, there will be opportunities to expand your skills by working with Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft T-SQL, and low-code/no-code integration tools, contributing to the modernization of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be eager to contribute to a dynamic retail environment. Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should have a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Full Stack or Front End Developer is essential, with a solid understanding of application development best practices. Proficiency in Typescript, React.js, and Node.js is required, along with familiarity with web development tools such as Visual Studio and GitHub. Experience in performance tuning, optimization techniques, and troubleshooting application issues is highly desirable. Knowledge of database design, query optimization, and stored procedures using T-SQL or Oracle PL/SQL will be advantageous. Excellent communication, teamwork, and analytical skills are crucial, as is the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work within deadlines. Responsibilities Develop and maintain application code using Typescript, React.js, and Node.js to meet business requirements and specifications.Design, implement, and optimize database structures, queries, and stored procedures to ensure high performance and data integrity.Collaborate with database ETL developers, business analysts, and database administrators to translate requirements into technical solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and bugs.Conduct thorough unit testing and participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards and quality assurance.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including database schemas, data dictionaries, and design documents.Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies relevant to web development and system integration.Participate in continuous learning and professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge base.
