About The Role As a Data Innovation Lab team member at AXA, you will be responsible for generating tangible value from data and artificial intelligence (AI). You will be part of an interdisciplinary team comprising data scientists, software engineers, and business experts, focused on developing innovative AI solutions to drive the long-term transformation of AXA’s insurance business. The position is situated within the "AI Business Capabilities" unit of the Data Innovation Lab, where the primary focus is on transitioning promising AI experiments into stable, operational systems and ensuring their reliable operation. Collaborating closely with other teams, you will bring your expertise in MLOps, LLMOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to contribute to joint projects, enhancing the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of AI applications in production environments. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should possess strong programming skills in Python, with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI, Pydantic, Pydantic AI, Celery, Polars, PyTorch, and Transformers. You should be willing to familiarize yourself with insurance processes to understand and develop AI applications within this context. A commitment to sustainable software development practices—such as Test-Driven Development, Clean Code, Code Reviews, and proficient use of Git—is essential. Experience with deploying AI systems using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud platforms such as AWS, along with monitoring tools like Grafana and OTEL, is highly desirable. Knowledge of developing LLM-based workflows, including agents, prompting strategies, Mlflow, and Langfuse, is a plus. Additionally, experience in initiating new projects—from ideation and prototyping to stable operation—is advantageous. Familiarity with SQL and Typescript can be beneficial but is not mandatory. Responsibilities Guide project teams through the hands-on transition of AI experiments into production environments, directly impacting core business operations.Identify commonalities across various AI applications and leverage your abstraction skills to design and implement reusable software components, services, and infrastructure.Continuously explore new topics and navigate complex IT landscapes, integrating technical expertise with business understanding to create practical solutions for operational units.Operate, monitor, and optimize in-house developed machine learning and AI applications in production, including tasks such as monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, incident management, and ensuring site reliability.
