Financial Controller

What this role looks likeAs Financial Controller, you will join an enthusiastic and ambitious finance team. You will work closely with our CFO, Finance Management and the wider Finance team, supporting our control, compliance and reporting agenda across the group. The role is broad by design: depending on your strengths and interests, you can grow your scope across compliance and revenue control over time.We are looking for an analytic, curious and entrepreneurial mind with a go-getter mentality, who can thrive in a dynamic scale-up environment. This role offers a real seat at the table, plenty of room to take ownership, and ample opportunity to grow.What you will own as Financial ControllerStrengthen and improve internal controls to ensure accurate, reliable, and auditable financial dataSupport tax compliance (VAT, ICP, CIT) and statutory filings in collaboration with advisorsOwn and improve AR and revenue control, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and billing accuracyRun and optimize key reconciliations (AR, intercompany, bank) and balance sheet substantiationContribute to monthly close and year-end audit (journal entries, PBC, schedules, walkthroughs)Identify gaps, streamline processes, and drive automation across systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe)Partner with Finance leadership to deliver on key priorities and continuously improve ways of workingWhat you will bring to the Finance team3–5 years of experience in financial control, accounting, or audit (Big 4 or industry)A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS)Hands-on experience with tax (VAT/ICP, CIT) and revenue/AR processesProven ability to improve controls, processes, or reporting (e.g. automations, reconciliations, system improvements)Comfortable working with data, systems, and digging into details to solve issuesYou take ownership and follow through on what you commit toYou ask questions, challenge assumptions, and look for better ways of workingYou adapt quickly and stay effective in a fast-moving, scale-up environmentYou communicate clearly with stakeholders across finance and the wider businessYou’re eager to learn, expand your scope, and grow with the companyFluent in English; Dutch is a plusExperience with ERP systems; NetSuite, Salesforce, or Stripe is a strong advantageImportant note: please do apply if you meet 70%+ of the criteria.
