Your Role As a Software (Emulation) Engineer, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle. Working closely with colleagues from various disciplines, you will Design, develop, test and maintain emulation software and simulation modelsTranslate business requirements and abstract concepts into functional software solutionsCreate digital representations of automated logistic systems and processesDevelop software that models transportation, sortation and storage equipmentIntegrate communication with external systems, reporting tools and data analysis capabilitiesContinuously improve software quality, performance and maintainabilityCollaborate with international teams and stakeholders across Vanderlande One of the key challenges in this role is finding the right balance between realism and simplicity. You will create models that accurately represent complex logistics systems while remaining efficient, understandable and scalable. What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field0-3 years of experience in software developmentStrong interest in software modelling, system behaviour and complex technical challengesAffinity with graph-based structures (nodes and edges), 3D emulation or simulation modelsExperience with source control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, TFS or similar Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following is considered an advantage Model-based development and requirements engineeringIndustrial software development environmentsBaggage handling, warehouse automation, material handling or similar logistics domainsAtlassian tools such as Jira and ConfluenceJava development and IntelliJ IDEWorking in Agile development environmentsInternational collaboration with globally distributed teams Who You Are You are an analytical thinker who enjoys tackling complex challenges and finding creative solutions.
