The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, development, and testing of product software. This role drives improvements to development processes to enhance efficiency, software quality, and overall product cost. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and test professionals to deliver high-quality software across all phases of development, including design, implementation, integration, testing, and supportDesign and develop software architectures, translate technical specifications into robust solutions, and deliver well-tested, maintainable codeDiagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects independentlyProvide technical leadership, including defining requirements, guiding design decisions, and mentoring team membersCoordinate engineering activities and drive timely delivery of software modules and subsystems by establishing clear goals and expectationsPerform and guide unit, subsystem, and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability, while promoting best testing practices across the teamSupport system-level activities by partnering with clinical, quality, service, and test engineers to reproduce issues, execute tests, and document findings in defect tracking systemsContribute to program planning, strategic initiatives, and continuous process improvements across the organizationMentor and support the development of junior engineers through technical coaching, code reviews, and feedbackEnsure compliance with internal standard operating procedures and applicable FDA and industry regulationsMaintain and improve software development processes, tools, and configuration management practices Your Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceMaster’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred Required Qualifications 5 to 8 years of experience in software design, analysis, and troubleshooting in an engineering environment, or 3 to 6 years with a Master’s degreeProven experience providing technical leadership within a complex software development environmentStrong background in Windows application development, including Win32 and MFCExperience with Windows batch scriptingDemonstrated curiosity and ability to explore Windows internals to diagnose and resolve complex system behaviorsProficiency in C++ and PythonExperience debugging applications using Visual StudioWorking knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP networkingAbility to elicit, document, analyze, review, and trace software requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical device development or other regulated industriesFamiliarity with Windows security and system features such as UWF, Secure Boot, and BitLockerExperience with C#Experience with build systems such as CMake and NinjaKnowledge of secure coding practices and secure software development principles The targeted pay range for this position is typically between $115,000 - $127,200 . We note that the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
