# Software Engineer
## About the Role
Lucet is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications that support business-critical workflows and integrate with internal and external systems.
This role will contribute to web applications, APIs, relational databases, automated testing, and system integrations that help improve access to care in the Behavioral Health space.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product, engineering, project management, and business analysis teams to deliver high-quality, well-tested solutions, take ownership of development work, and support evolving technology and business needs.
## Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain Ruby on Rails web-based applications, APIs, relational databases, and automated testing.
* Develop and support system integrations with internal and external systems.
* Ensure application quality through testing and performance monitoring.
* Partner with Project Managers and Business Analysts to execute delegated tasks and implement documented business requirements.
* Provide technical expertise to development initiatives while supporting broader IT department goals.
* Participate in application monitoring and on-call production support, including nights and weekends, as required.
* Identify and support emerging technologies and adapt to evolving IT and business requirements.
* Contribute to applications and systems that support access to behavioral health care.
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology, **or** a two-year degree program from an accredited technical school, **or** certifications on multiple technologies from an accredited training program.
* 3+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
* At least 3 years of professional development experience using Ruby on Rails and Git.
* Ability to pass the required background checks and 10-Panel Drug Screen upon hire and throughout employment.

## Education & Experience
**Education:**

* At least 3 years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience using Git.
## Work Arrangement & Schedule
* **Location:** Des Moines, IA, US
* **Work Arrangement:** Remote
* **Work Environment:** Work is performed from home with company-provided equipment.
* **Internet Requirement:** High-speed internet service using cable or fiber optic with minimum download speed of 20 Mbps, upload speed of 5 Mbps, and maximum latency of 100 milliseconds must be installed before starting.
* **On-Call Support:** Participation in production support, including nights and weekends, may be required.
* A quiet workspace with minimal background noise is required for calls.
* The position involves frequent computer and phone use and extended periods of sitting and typing.
