Are you passionate about ensuring that next-generation battery and ePowertrain systems perform safely, reliably, and as intended?Then this could be your next challenge!We are currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented System DVP Engineer to join our R&D department.As a System DVP Engineer for Battery and ePowertrain Systems at ELU (Electrification Unit of Yanmar), you will play a key role in defining, planning, and executing design verification and validation activities for our electrification products. You will translate system requirements into structured validation plans, coordinate testing activities with internal teams and external suppliers, and ensure that battery and ePowertrain systems meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements before production release.Working closely with design, engineering, and testing specialists, you will support the development of robust off-highway electrification solutions and contribute to the continuous improvement of our validation processes and standards. Requirements Definition & AlignmentCreate, maintain, and manage system requirements in alignment with design and engineering teams.Ensure requirements are clear, measurable, testable, and agreed upon by stakeholders.Participate in design reviews to verify compliance with system requirements.Maintain traceability between requirements, validation activities, and validation results.Design Verification PlanningDevelop and manage Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for battery and ePowertrain systems.Define validation scope, test methods, acceptance criteria, evidence requirements, and timing.Independently track validation activities and follow up on open actions.Identify validation risks early and implement mitigation plans where necessary.Test Coordination & Supplier ManagementCoordinate external testing partners and suppliers to ensure timely execution of validation activities.Support and oversee testing activities including functional, environmental, temperature, durability, and abuse testing.Support supplier testing when required to ensure high-quality evidence collection.Support monitoring testing progress, resolve issues, and review supplier reports and deliverables.Validation Review & ReportingConduct system and component-level testing when required.Evaluate test results against defined requirements and validation objectives.Participate in reliability and durability assessments.Prepare clear and structured validation reports to support engineering decisions and product sign-off.Risk Management & Continuous ImprovementReview DFMEA documentation and support improvement activities.Identify technical, planning, and validation risks and drive corrective actions.Collaborate with engineering teams to improve product robustness and reliability.Contribute to the development of reusable validation standards, best practices, and DVP methodologies across programs. Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.Minimum 5 years of experience in Design Verification & Validation (DVP) for battery systems, ePowertrain systems, or related electrification technologies.Experience with battery packs, battery integration, BMS, powertrain systems, or high-voltage vehicle architectures.Experience in electrical wiring harness validation and testing.Strong understanding of requirements management, validation processes, and product sign-off activities.Knowledge of APQP methodologies is considered an advantage.Experience within the automotive or off-highway industry is preferred.Technical SkillsStrong understanding of battery systems, high-voltage architectures, and associated electrical systems.Experience creating and managing system-level validation plans.Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.Knowledge of relevant industry standards such as ISO, DIN, LV, and automotive validation guidelines.Ability to review DFMEA documentation, validation evidence, technical reports, and risk assessments.Experience with validation and reliability testing methodologies.Soft SkillsFluent in English, both written and spoken.German or Japanese language skills are considered a plus.Structured, self-driven, and highly organized.Strong communication skills with the ability to align stakeholders across multiple disciplines.Practical problem solver with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability.Comfortable working with suppliers, testing partners, and international engineering teams.Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.Additional InformationTo ensure a smooth onboarding process, we are currently considering applications from candidates who already live in the Netherlands or Germany or Japan and are authorized to work in one of these countries.
