Description

All roles Engineering Founding engineer Full time Antwerp on-site Apply for this role Why Envoy? Industry runs on what it buys: materials, ingredients, chemicals, packaging, freight, machines, services. That spend decides whether a plant makes money, and in most companies it is still managed through inboxes, spreadsheets, and ERP screens designed decades ago. We think it is one of the largest pools of recoverable waste in the economy. The best manufacturers treat cost as an engineering problem: every line item has to justify itself. Envoy brings that discipline to procurement. We build the AI-native procurement workspace: one place for buyers to identify, plan, execute, govern, and measure work across their spend base, with agents that work inside the customer's real ERP, P2P, file, email, and supplier context to turn an opportunity into a measured outcome. We start where procurement is most operational and least served by software: the physical spend that keeps plants running and products moving. This is an unsolved problem. Join us if you want to help us solve it. How we build Our current product is built with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Postgres, Drizzle, the Vercel AI SDK, and background workflows. The stack will change as the product needs it; sound judgement and the ability to learn matter more than matching every tool today. Engineering at Envoy Engineers here do not receive a finished specification and disappear into a codebase. You will help discover the problem, understand the evidence and authority a buyer needs, choose the smallest product shape that removes the most waste, and then build it across the stack. The work moves between polished product surfaces and deep systems: agent tools, workflows, approvals, files, supplier communications, integrations, and the audit trail that connects an action to an outcome. What you will do Own product areas end-to-end, from customer problem to production outcome.Work directly with procurement teams to understand messy category and supplier workflows.Build buyer-facing screens in React and Next.js with attention to clarity and detail.Design agent workflows that cite evidence, respect authority boundaries, and surface the right human decisions.Work across application code, Postgres data models, integrations, background jobs, and AI systems when the problem demands it.Improve reliability, performance, observability, and evaluation as Envoy takes on more autonomous work.Help decide what to build, what not to build, and how the engineering team should operate as it grows. What we are looking for 3+ years of experience shipping high-quality software across front- and backend boundaries.Strong product judgement: you can turn an ambiguous workflow into a useful, coherent product.Deep fluency with TypeScript, React, and modern web systems, plus comfort with data and backend work. The independence to move fast by default and the judgement to slow down when correctness, trust, or customer authority demands it.Care for the details, from a clear empty state to a durable data model or a well-designed agent evaluation.Comfort talking to users, testing your assumptions, and changing your mind when the evidence changes.Interest in applied AI systems; experience with agents, tool use, evals, or enterprise workflows is a bonus, not a gate. What we offer You will work close to customers and the founders. Top-of-market pay: we want the best people in the field and we pay like it, with proactive salary revisions and bonuses rather than waiting for you to ask.Equity: you are joining the company at an early stage, so you will own a meaningful share of the company.A high talent bar: operate with an experienced founding team that prioritizes individual development, ownership and direct feedback.
