Location: Glasgow – 4 days on-site, 1 day remote Start Date: ASAP Contract End Date: April 2027 (with a few to extend for a further 12-months) Daily Rate: £400–£450 per day, Inside IR35 Damia Group is currently supporting a leading investment banking organisation in Glasgow with the appointment of an experienced Python Developer. You’ll join an engineering-focused team responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining automated solutions across end-to-end (E2E) workflows. The role will involve building robust, scalable solutions while supporting reliable deployment and operational excellence across the wider engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Python Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working across application, automation and infrastructure layers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable applications and services using Python.Build and maintain automated solutions supporting end-to-end business and technical workflows.Develop reusable automation frameworks, tooling and components.Integrate applications and automation solutions with APIs and distributed systems.Support reliable deployment through modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across application, infrastructure and automation environments.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams within an Agile delivery environment.Contribute to software design, testing strategies, code quality and wider engineering best practices. Essential Experience & Skills Strong software engineering background with extensive hands-on Python development experience.Proven experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable applications and services.Practical experience with automation technologies such as Playwright and/or Selenium.Experience developing reusable automation frameworks and tooling.Good understanding of API-driven architectures, microservices and distributed systems.Exposure to cloud-native development and containerisation, including Docker and/or Kubernetes.Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.Strong understanding of software design principles, testing strategies and engineering best practices.Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, infrastructure and automation layers.Experience working within Agile environments alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
