Senior Software Developer – Trading Applications

Job Description What is the opportunity? The RBC Investor and Services and Technology team is seeking a Software Developer to support an application that processes FX transactions. In this role you will be responsible for the design and development of solutions on the Kondor+ based platform for key RBC initiatives. The role is responsible to partner across IT and Business to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs, to implement technical solutions that meet Business requirements. What will you do? Participate in the technical design, development, and implementation of application systems. Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments. Organize and participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs, and unit test plansReview issues and requirements from business partnersDevelops, codes, documents programs of average to high complexity using different languages such as SQL, Java, Unix scripting depending on the target solutionContributes to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategiesTroubleshooting Ability to determine root cause and resolve for incidents and Project issuesManages all aspects of testing and verification ensuring all tasks are performed for all activities.Ensures adequate technical documentation and training materialDelivering new design and development specifications based on customer requirements, while adhering to standard procedures and techniquesCreating test transactions and running tests to find errors and revise application programsParticipating in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes; continually working to create a learning environment by sharing about the participation process with othersSupporting the implementation of application programs; fixing any existing or new bugs. What do you need to succeed: Financial Market Knowledge: Understanding of Forex Exchange businessKnowledge of trading workflows, risk management, and back office operations.Experience with Trading application platform (Front and Back-office).A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.5 years development background banking technology preferredStrong SQL, Linux and Java skillsStrong communication and problem solvingUnderstand IT Standards, Methodologies, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ITIL processesParticipating in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes; continually working to create a learning environment by sharing about the participation process with other.AI Skills and mindset.
