About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laravel Developer to join our client's remote team based in the UK. This is a senior-level, hands-on engineering position offering significant autonomy and influence over both the technical landscape and product development strategies. You will work closely with the Lead Engineer, CTO, and product teams to enhance and scale a sophisticated platform that integrates telephony, CRM systems, and AI-driven analytics. Your primary focus will be on backend development, ensuring the platform remains reliable, scalable, and maintainable to support ongoing growth and innovation. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment, working on complex data processing pipelines and large-scale communication datasets. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of professional software development experience, with recent and substantial expertise in PHP and Laravel frameworks. Proven experience supporting and developing SaaS applications in a production environment is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of Laravel architecture, including APIs, queues, jobs, and scheduled tasks. Proficiency in SQL, particularly with MariaDB or MySQL, is required, along with experience designing systems capable of handling increasing data volumes and traffic. Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure, automated testing, source control, and modern deployment practices is also necessary. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are vital, as is the ability to work effectively within a remote team setting. Responsibilities Design, develop, and support backend applications and services utilizing PHP and Laravel frameworks.Take ownership of new features from initial technical planning and design through to deployment in production environments.Create and maintain APIs, CRM integrations, and third-party service integrations to ensure seamless communication across platforms.Work with large volumes of call recordings, transcripts, and communication data, ensuring data integrity and security.Optimize database queries, improve database schema design, and enhance overall application performance.Develop reliable background processing, queue-based functionalities, and event-driven workflows to handle high data throughput.Maintain and improve the AWS-hosted environment, ensuring high availability and scalability.Investigate and resolve complex production incidents, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.Enhance automated testing, monitoring, logging, and deployment processes to improve development efficiency and system reliability.Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and promote best practices within the development team.
