Overview Use your software development skills to support mission critical .NET applications at the Vermont Department of Health (VDH)! The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is currently hiring a senior Windows, Web and API Software (.NET) Developer to design, develop, and maintain .NET software applications for VDH as part of a small team of Developers. This is a full-time permanent position with the State that comes with an excellent total compensation package. Responsibilities Of The IT Systems Developer Will Include Designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting .NET software applications for VDHCollaborating with Database Administrators to design and develop databases in SQL Server to support VDH operationsConfiguring and deploying applications, APIs and jobs in Azure environmentComplying with change management procedures for VDH software application deployments and modificationsStudying existing VDH systems to evaluate effectiveness and developing new systems to improve production or workflow as requiredMaintaining cybersecurity of VDH systems and data A fingerprint-supported background check may be required based on the assigned job duties and location. Please note that multiple positions in the same work location may be filled from this job posting. Class Definition This is the third level of five in the Systems Developer series. The position is primarily responsible for analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of new or existing software applications within a State of Vermont organization, professional programming, data base administration, and systems analysis work for a department or agency of Vermont State Government. Class incumbents are technical experts in their field. This level is different from the Systems Developer II position in that it requires a greater level of experience and ability to work independently, adds responsibilities for researching and improving the overall software development process, and may also act as a technical team lead. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative or professional supervisor. Environmental Factors Work is performed in a standard office setting and there is considerable interaction with users and members of project teams requiring some tact and diplomacy to balance competing views. Work outside of regular work schedule can be anticipated. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration. OR Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration. OR Six (6) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
