PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Position Type: Full-timeLocation: This role requires regular travel to clubs predominantly (but not limited to) areas in the Midlands.
The PFA has offices in Manchester and London and we are flexible in terms of where your ‘home’ office will be.
This is a hybrid role and so attendance in the office (for team meetings, specific projects etc.) will be required alongside remote/home working.Salary: Competitive remuneration package plus generous benefitsClosing Date: 23:59, Tuesday 22 September 2026
The PFA is currently looking for a regionally based coach developer to join the 15 we already have established throughout the professional game.
Successful applicants must have experience of working within the professional game, hold the UEFA A Licence or above, and preferably be a current FA Licenced UEFA C award tutor, or above.
This role would be ideal for someone with outstanding interpersonal skills and a good working knowledge of coach development in this country.
You will need to be an inspirational communicator who is able to share advanced technical/tactical ideas to current and former professional players.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the FA UEFA C award to your allocated group of professional clubs or be prepared to accept training and work towards this licenced tutor statusProvide mentoring and support to all course candidates as requiredMaintain all relevant CPD for both your coaching awards and FA Licenced tutor statusParticipate in the PFA Coach Development Department’s Internal Verification and sampling process, on an ongoing basis, to help maintain standards and consistencyAttend PFA Coach Development Department staff meetings as requestedMaintain accurate and detailed electronic records of course delivery and member interactionsMaintain a working knowledge of current issues/trends within professional football, through active studyWork evenings and weekends to support members needs as required (this may include overnight stays)Hold UEFA B Licence tutor status and deliver the UEFA B Licence award regionally to both current and former PFA members (ex-professional players), and fully support all candidatesHold UEFA A Licence tutor status and deliver the national UEFA A Licence award alongside FA staff membersOngoing collaboration with other PFA departments to ensure a more integrated approach.

High level communication skills, ranging from 1:1 situations through to presenting to large groupsDemonstrate a patient and considered approach to all candidates attending our coursesIT proficient and currentStrong presentation skills in both developing content and deliveryCapable of working alone, with discipline, and managing your time effectivelyActively contributing to a dynamic and experienced PFA team ethic when requiredBeing able to hold and defend an opinion in a controlled and intelligent mannerCapable of producing written reports on your work to senior PFA staff members upon requestAbility to work collaboratively across all PFA departments and key stakeholders as requiredApproachable and low-ego personalityHigh level of integrity and confidentiality.
Essential Requirements
Hold a current UEFA A Licence (preferred)Preferably hold a current FA Licenced Tutor Status to UEFA C AwardKnowledge and working experience of the English professional gameKnowledge and experience of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP)Knowledge and experience of working with elite players, particularly within an academy setting, both practically and within the classroomKnowledge and experience of current coach development methodology, in particular the multi-disciplinary approachClean full UK Driving LicenceEnhanced DBS check.

Additional spoken language skills.
