Planeteria partners with organizations that value openness, inclusion, and progress in their digital presence. Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a WordPress Developer. The WordPress Developer will build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites for public sector clients, ensuring accessibility, performance, and security standards are met. Day-to-day tasks include developing custom themes and templates, configuring plugins, integrating APIs, and optimizing sites for responsive behavior across devices. The role involves collaborating with designers, project managers, and content teams, translating UX and design requirements into clean, maintainable code. The developer will also troubleshoot issues, manage updates, and support continuous improvements to existing client sites. Apply directly from website: https://www.planeteria.com/careers/ Qualifications Strong front-end development skills, including Responsive Web Design and Web Design, with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Experience in back-end web development and general Web Development, including custom WordPress theme and plugin development, PHP, and MySQL.Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG/ADA) and performance optimization for WordPress sites.Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), modern build tools, and deployment workflows for WordPress environments.Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.Experience with public sector, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
