Software Development Engineer Lead (Backend)

About the role We are looking for a highly experienced Software Development Engineer Lead (Backend) to join our Technology team and play a key role in building next-generation financial products. You will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance backend services for strategic initiatives, including the development of APERD and future DANA+ capabilities. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on engineering expertise, and the ability to build scalable systems that support high-traffic financial environments. You'll be working on: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.7+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend expertise.Hands-on experience with one or more backend technologies such as: Java, Golang, Node.js, PythonProven experience designing and operating high-traffic, large-scale systems.Strong understanding of: Microservices architecture, Distributed systems, API design, Database optimization, System performance tuning.Experience implementing CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Design and develop highly scalable, reliable, and secure backend services.Architect distributed systems capable of supporting high-volume transactions and user traffic.Drive technical decisions balancing scalability, performance, security, and speed of delivery.Establish engineering best practices and coding standards.Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations.Optimize application performance, reliability, and system availability.Ensure high code quality through testing, code reviews, and automation.Leverage AI-powered development tools and engineering practices to improve productivity and delivery quality.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.Collaborate with Product, Project Management, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
