Senior Java Engineer

Role Summary Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend applications and services while delivering new product features and enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, contribute to technical design and code quality, and ensure reliable, scalable, and well-tested solutions through Agile engineering practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using Java and related technologiesWrite clean, maintainable, testable, and efficient Java code following OOP principles and coding standardsSolve complex technical problems and contribute to technical design discussionsApply software design patterns and engineering best practicesPerform code reviews and contribute to overall code quality and maintainabilityDesign and implement automated tests including unit, integration, and system testsDevelop and maintain REST APIs and backend servicesDesign and work with relational and non-relational databases, including data modeling and query optimizationUse Maven and related build tools for dependency management, packaging, and application lifecycle managementIntegrate software changes into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and JenkinsfileUse Python and Bash for development tooling and automation tasks where appropriateDeploy, debug, and troubleshoot applications in Linux environmentsWork with Git version control systems (BitBucket, GitHub, GitLab)Analyze and resolve software defects and production issuesManage application configuration using YAML, JSON, Maven, and configuration files General Responsibilities Implement new product features and enhancements based on business and technical requirementsCooperate on definition of user stories and specification of acceptance criteriaParticipate in support and sustaining activitiesCollaborate with QA engineers, architects, product owners, and other development teamsActively participate in Agile processes and SCRUM ceremoniesCreate and maintain technical documentation and design specificationsSeek continuous improvement of own skills, technical competencies, and engineering practicesAccept additional responsibility and contribute to team and product success Job Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldCommercial experience with Java developmentStrong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and software design patternsExperience with REST APIs and backend service developmentExperience with relational databases and SQL; knowledge of NoSQL databases is an advantageExperience with automated testing, including unit and integration testingExperience with Maven and Git version control systemsFamiliarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as JenkinsBasic scripting skills in Python and/or BashExperience working in Linux environmentsUnderstanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood written and spoken English Accessibility Mavenir is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with physical and mental disabilities.
