Team Summary At SQUAD, our Image Quality team focuses on testing, qualifying, and improving imaging performance for smart home security and IoT devices. We operate an advanced R&D image quality laboratory, supporting camera hardware development from early research to final qualification. We are looking for an Optical Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work on research and development, optical testing, and hardware qualification to support the IoT product lineup. Job Summary As an Optical Engineer, you will tackle practical R&D tasks, work in our lab, and provide optical engineering support for lens modules and illumination sub-systems throughout the design, analysis, and testing phases. Responsibilities and Duties Specify, select, and qualify optical components for camera modulesEvaluate how optical elements affect overall camera image qualityDevelop and refine measurement methods for comprehensive image performance evaluationAnalyze, test, and qualify illumination systemsCollaborate with hardware engineers to develop illumination sub-systems. Qualifications And Skills BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Optical Sciences, Optical Physics, or a related fieldHands-on experience with optical design tools (Zemax or Speos preferred; LightTools, ASAP, or Code V are a plus)Solid understanding of core optical components (imaging optics, lightguides, illumination optics)Ability to learn and adopt new optical design tools and methodsAt least an Intermediate level in both written and spoken English (B1).
