Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Java Software Engineer role based in Stockholm.
The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions with a focus on backend services and integration.
Daily tasks include implementing new features, improving existing functionality, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product management, QA, and operations.
The role involves working with microservices architectures, optimizing application performance, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices.
The engineer will also participate in sprint planning, provide effort estimates, and help ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable code.
Technical Expertise & Microservices
Java Ecosystem: 6+ years of experience with modern Java (Java 17/21+), with deep knowledge of the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security).Microservices Architecture: Proven experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining scalable microservices architectures (event-driven architecture, distributed tracing, API Gateways, Service Mesh, Circuit Breakers).API & Integrations: Strong experience with RESTful APIs; integrations with external services are a plus (e.g., UC, BankID, Swish).Databases & Data Modeling: Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).Cloud & Containerization: Experience working with Docker and cloud environments (GCP).
