Release and Deployment Engineer

‎ ‎Position Overview: The Release and Deployment Engineer supports software deployment activities, CI/CD pipeline execution, release documentation, and troubleshooting across controlled QA, staging, and production-like environments. The role works closely with development, QA, architecture, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth and reliable software delivery. Key Responsibilities: Support deployment activities across QA, staging, and controlled production-like environments.Assist in maintaining and executing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for applications and services, mainly .NET-based systems.Follow approved release procedures, deployment checklists, and rollback guidelines.Work with Git repositories, build artifacts, and deployment packages.Support application installation and configuration on Windows and Linux servers, including IIS, Nginx, Windows Services, and systemctl-based services.Monitor deployment jobs, pipeline executions, and application logs, and escalate issues when needed.Assist in troubleshooting deployment, configuration, and environment-related issues.Execute basic SQL queries and support database-related deployment activities such as backup, restore, and script execution under guidance.Use PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools to support automation tasks.Maintain release documentation, deployment notes, and internal wiki pages.Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, architects, and DevOps team members to support smooth delivery. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.2-5 years of relevant experience.Basic understanding of software development lifecycle, release management, and deployment processes.Familiarity with Git and CI/CD concepts.Basic knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines or similar CI/CD tools.Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.Basic understanding of Windows and Linux server environments.Basic SQL knowledge, including queries and database scripts.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.Good communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Willingness to learn, take responsibility, and work in a team-oriented environment. Good to Have: Exposure to .NET applications or services.Exposure to IIS, Nginx, Windows Services, or Linux services.Basic knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes.Familiarity with SQL Server or PostgreSQL backup and restore activities.Exposure to monitoring tools, Redis, or Elasticsearch.Basic knowledge of mobile or cross-platform build processes such as Xamarin, iOS, or macOS packaging.
