New software product team - Automation Edge Applications The role At Everllence Automation Edge Applications, we are establishing a new software product team in Piraeus, Greece. You will work closely with colleagues in Denmark and engage with customers across Greece and the Mediterranean region. The team's mission is to develop customer-facing applications that help vessel crews and shipping companies operate and optimize engine performance more efficiently. As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications that support vessel crews in operating, monitoring, and optimizing engine performance. You will work closely with UX researchers, data specialists, engine experts, and fellow developers to transform customer needs and operational insights into reliable, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions. What you will be doing Design and build customer-facing applications that improve troubleshooting and help vessel crews operate engines effectively.Develop end-to-end features using C# or Python on the backend and Node.js, React, and our QUILT application framework on the frontend.Turn input from users, UX research, and engine specialists into well-defined technical solutions and iterative product releases.Define maintainable application architectures, APIs, data flows, and reusable user interface components.Design software for the realities of onboard environments, including intermittent connectivity, limited computing resources, and software that cannot always be updated immediately.Build quality into products through automated testing, code reviews, secure development practices, and useful diagnostics.Own features throughout their lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in collaboration with colleagues across locations.Collaborate closely with UX researchers, data scientists, domain experts, and fellow developers throughout the product development lifecycle.Utilize AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies where they create value while maintaining accountability for software quality, security, and reliability. Who you are You are a pragmatic software developer who enjoys turning complex operational requirements into simple, dependable solutions for end users. Ideally, You Bring Professional experience delivering full stack web applications and taking features from idea to production.Strong skills in C#, Python, TypeScript, or similar technologies, with experience in modern backend development.Experience working with Node.js and React or comparable frontend frameworks.Experience designing APIs, integrating data sources, and working with version control and continuous integration practices.Experience with containerization such as Docker.A quality-focused approach that includes automated testing, maintainability, security, observability, and production support.The ability to explain technical trade-offs and collaborate effectively with UX researchers, domain specialists, and fellow developers.Experience within maritime, industrial, manufacturing, energy, edge-computing, or other operational environments is considered an advantage, but not required.Proficiency in English language. You are curious, constructive, and comfortable working in a newly established team where priorities may evolve as we learn from customers. You balance speed with sound engineering judgment and understand that software used aboard a vessel must be reliable, secure, and supportable. The team is responsible for designing and developing the digital products used by vessel crews when operating and optimizing our engines. The team is primarily located in Denmark and works closely with an additional team of 12 colleagues based in India. The Automation Edge Applications team is part of the Automation function within Everllence R&D, an organization of approximately 160 professionals responsible for the electronic control systems of our engines. You will be based in our established hub in Piraeus, Greece, and become part of the local Software Engineering organization, where colleagues contribute to a variety of global software and digitalization initiatives across Everllence. While your day-to-day work will be closely connected to the international Edge Applications team, you will also benefit from being part of a local engineering community and collaborating with professionals across the Piraeus site. About The Team's Mission The team is focused on creating customer value by combining user research, customer insights, data-driven analysis, and software development. The goal is to engage directly with customers, both onboard vessels and in shore-based operations, and transform their needs into valuable digital products. These solutions may help improve troubleshooting, optimize engine performance in relation to other onboard systems, or provide actionable insights through data analytics for shipping companies. While this role focuses on UX research and design, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team where different competencies come together to deliver customer-centric solutions.
