About The Role The Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School is seeking a dedicated and motivated Junior Salesforce Developer to join its Technology team. This role is instrumental in supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the school's Salesforce-based Student Information System (SIS) and related Education Cloud solutions. Reporting to the Senior Director of Technology, the Junior Salesforce Developer will collaborate closely with the Student Information & Learning Systems (SILS) team, IT systems team, and external implementation partners to build scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions. The primary focus will be on streamlining student enrollment processes, academic operations, reporting, and institutional workflows to improve overall efficiency and data integrity. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their skills in Salesforce development within an educational environment, with experience in the education sector being preferred but not mandatory. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of experience working with Salesforce, including internships or entry-level roles. A Salesforce Administrator Certification is required or must be obtained within six months of hire. Foundational knowledge in Apex programming, SOQL queries, Lightning Experience, and Flow Builder is essential. Candidates should have a basic understanding of relational data models, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Preferred qualifications include experience with Salesforce Education Cloud, prior work in K-12, adult education, higher education, or nonprofit settings, and additional certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I. Familiarity with Lightning Web Components (LWC), REST/SOAP APIs, data migration tools, and data privacy frameworks like FERPA is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s core values and DEIB principles, and be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Responsibilities Salesforce Development & Configuration: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Salesforce applications within Education Cloud. Build and modify custom objects, fields, validation rules, flows (Record-Triggered and Screen Flows), approval processes, page layouts, and Lightning record pages. Support Apex development including classes and triggers, along with creating test classes to ensure adequate code coverage. Develop and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) as needed. SIS & Academic Workflow Support: Support the development of modules related to student data management, admissions, enrollment workflows, course scheduling, registration, attendance, and grading processes. Assist in ensuring data security and role-based access controls aligned with FERPA regulations. Reporting & Data Management: Build and maintain reports and dashboards for diverse stakeholders. Support data imports, exports, and validation activities to maintain data quality and integrity across integrated systems. Integration & Collaboration: Support API integrations with third-party systems such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), assessment tools, and payment systems. Collaborate with Business Analysts, SILS team, systems team, and external Salesforce partners. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and solution design discussions to ensure project alignment and timely delivery. Quality Assurance & Documentation: Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), assist in release management, deployment processes, and follow best practices for version control and change management.
